RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara Comes Together for the Fourth Annual Golf Tournament in Support of Keaton's House

The Fourth Annual RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara Golf Tournament brought together REALTORS®, industry partners and sponsors for a day of connection, camaraderie and giving back at Heron Point Golf Links in Alberton.

While the tournament has always been about supporting local charities, this year's event carried even greater meaning.

Following the sudden passing of RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara Broker of Record Conrad Zurini at the beginning of June, it was the first time such a large group from the brokerage community had come together.

Despite the emotions surrounding the day, organizers felt it was important to continue with the tournament in Conrad's honour while raising funds for Keaton's House.

Bringing the Brokerage Together

For tournament co-founder Adam Clermont, the goal has always been to create an event that brings the entire RE/MAX community together.

"We were excited to bring everyone back together. RE/MAX has such a great community, so it's really nice to have an event like this where everybody gets to connect and be social for a change. We get to talk about something other than interest rates and property values. It's fun to have that camaraderie and spend the day together."

Clermont explained that while there had been a golf tournament before, it involved a much smaller group.

"We talked about how much fun golf tournaments are and decided to put together a bigger one for the entire brokerage where we could really show off RE/MAX."

Long-Time Partners Supporting a Great Cause

Escarpment Law was proud to support the tournament as title sponsor, continuing its long-standing partnership with RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara.

"We are proud partners of RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara, and this is a really admirable cause," said Amey Hanna.

Alanna Stephen added that the event is an opportunity to connect with the people they work alongside throughout the year.

"It's great to see our referring agents, all the agents we partner with, and our other partners like Mission35 Mortgages and RBC while supporting a fantastic cause."

Mission35 Mortgages founder and sponsor Brian Hogben, said events like this are about much more than business.

"We've been with RE/MAX for so long. It's great to collaborate, and it's a good opportunity to talk to people about the challenges they're experiencing in the market because it's been tough. It's always nice to come to events like this and celebrate the relationship, and not have it be about business for a couple of hours."

Honouring Conrad Zurini

For tournament co-founder Frank Salvatore, the day was emotional from start to finish.

"We are a big family here, and today is an exceptionally special day because we lost our dear friend, mentor and leader in our industry, Conrad Zurini."

When news of Conrad's passing first came, Salvatore's immediate reaction was to cancel the tournament.

"As we sat together and thought about it, we wanted to do something for the charity and in honour of him, so it all came together."

Looking around the course, he said he was grateful they made that decision.

"We are grieving, hugging and consoling each other, and I'm glad we made this decision."

Having known Conrad for more than 30 years and worked alongside him for 26, Salvatore reflected on the impact he had on everyone around him.

"Conrad was an absolutely incredible human being who touched the lives of so many people. Everyone has a story. His office door was only 15 steps away from mine, so I saw him regularly. He was just an incredible human being. The Zurini family is an amazing family. They treat us like family, so we're all happy to be here."

He added that the motivation behind the tournament has always remained the same.

"The motivation has always been to help local charities in our area."

Supporting Keaton's House

During the evening dinner, new Broker of Record Joey Zurini thanked everyone for coming together during such a difficult time.

"Looking around the room, it's really clear that this is so much more than just a golf tournament."

She reminded everyone why the tournament continues to be so important to the brokerage.

"We are here to support Keaton's House, and it's a cause that means a great deal to our RE/MAX family. Keaton's House provides compassionate care for children with life-limiting illnesses while supporting their parents, siblings and loved ones. They offer respite care, grief support and, most importantly, a place where families can come together and simply make memories."

The tournament raised $25,000.

"This year was a little extra special, but we will get through it together. Thank you all for your wonderful words to me and my family. Thank you for supporting us and for coming out to be here together because this is the stuff that keeps us going."

The evening concluded with a toast led by realtor Lori VanDinther.

With everyone raising a glass, the room shared one simple tribute.

"To Conrad."
