What's happening in the appointment centre? July 19-25

The market continues to defy the typical summer slowdown. The Appointment Centre recorded 3,180 appointments this week—only 0.9% below last week—showing buyer interest remains remarkably strong. With 327 new listings hitting the market and 301 homes sold, activity continues to outpace what we'd normally expect this time of year.

The standout metric this week is the Appointment/Sold Index, which surged from 8.6 to 10.6. Historically, when showing activity rises faster than completed sales, it often signals that buyers are actively positioning themselves before making offers. In other words, today's appointments could become tomorrow's sales.

If this trend holds, the market is well positioned to carry stronger-than-normal momentum into August. Rather than fading with the season, buyer demand appears to be rebuilding—setting the stage for a busy late summer and a potentially stronger start to the fall market.
